not everyone can say this.
gratitude starts with us and with the small things in life that make us human.
what are you grateful for?
Good morning everybody and welcome to another episode of Cinco Minutitos with Profe. I want to thank y'all for a very special moment today, and that is a hundred downloads on different episodes of the podcast. I feel very grateful for that because the goal wasn't to be famous or do any of that, but if I'm inspiring at least a few people, a hundred of you, or whoever's downloading the podcast, then I feel great about it. So for you guys that have listened, I appreciate you greatly. And you're the reason I do this stuff. Just like the reason I want to be a coach, so I can help kids, so I can keep my competitive drive alive and also motivate and inspire people to try and do good. Well, I try to learn what really good is on my own and continue to push myself in that regard. It's a beautiful moment. Today I forgot a jacket and it's really cold. So the walk right now is kind of miserable. But then you think of gratitude, which I talked about the other day with my mom and other days. And some people don't have the warm home I just slept in and got out of my bed of a nice warm blanket. And so I could tough it out and I will tough it out. And tell myself that it's not cold anymore. Because people really have it tough out there. People are actually cold at night. People are actually cold during the day. People actually just live cold because they live in cold places. But just people don't have the means to not be cold. And so for that I'm grateful. I'm very grateful. Um I do think the following about gratitude. And I see why sometimes it's hard for people to be grateful and practice gratitude. Because life is not easy. I don't think it was ever supposed to be. I don't think anything's ever given. My question is, is by being grateful, are you sometimes selling yourself short in terms of like the urgency you need to have to go and be grateful by doing things that will end up making you feel grateful? Does that make sense? Like, I don't know, I'm grateful for my job, I'm grateful for the life I'm living, but I did work for it. So there's a component of gratitude that requires work, that requires a desire to be grateful, that requires a a demeanor to want to find gratitude in the things you have, which can be hard because sometimes people don't have that many things. But also it's like you have to position yourself and work hard for the things you want, so that then you can be grateful for the hard work you put in for the people that gave you their efforts to get you to that place. For then as a result, do you feel grateful and happy and fulfilled that you practice gratitude in order to be grateful? Does that make sense? I think I'm like I'm almost there to concrete the idea. But I think what matters is that sometimes it's hard to be grateful when things aren't going your way. But in the long run, if you practice gratitude every day, you win. And I think this is where the idea stems from. Am I able to walk? Am I able to think? Am I able to have capable hands? Am I able to find a will to do things regardless of my circumstance? And I think that's gratitude. You working hard, you pushing yourself, you finding a desire, that's gratitude. People that aren't grateful take things for granted, and as a result, it's a short fuse, it's a short-lived moment or moments or life. I think gratitude starts with the desire of wanting to get up and doing something and being grateful for what you have to achieve those things. You want to write a book, be thankful that you have a healthy brain with full of ideas. Now it's about putting together. You want to be an athlete, be grateful for your healthy body and go work on it. You like you know what I'm saying? You you want to be uh economist, be thankful for your brain that can see numbers. So, like all our circumstances require gratitude in order for us to even get the first step up, is what I'm trying to get at. It starts with being grateful that you just woke up this morning and that you have something to strive for and something to fight for, because not all of us do. Not all of us do. And so gratitude begins with yourself, it begins with your first breath after waking up, and your first step forward out the door to say to face the world and and all that. So that's how I feel today. Gratitude. What does it start with? What does it start with? Begins with you. Be thankful you're breathing, be thankful you woke up, be thankful for another day. Practice it. Tell yourself you love yourself. Tell somebody you love them, tell them you're grateful for them because of all their efforts. Starts with you. Gratitude starts with you. That's all I have for you guys today. Welcome to another episode of Cinco Minutitos. See you guys tomorrow.
